Why Psychology is considered a good optional subject for IAS Mains?

Considering the data, nearly two hundred candidates chose Psychology in the year 2017 and 21 people cleared the UPSC interview round. The success rate is around 10.9% and also, another important factor is that Psychology is an interesting subject allowing students to specify real-life examples. The only concern is that there is no syllabus overlapping with the General Studies (Both Prelims and Mains). However, the syllabus is quite less than other subjects.
