As per the new exam pattern, every student has to choose two optional subjects from a list of several subjects. For general studies papers, you will be allotted a thousand marks and 2 optional papers are provided 250 marks. Optional subject -An overview

Union public service commission offers more than 40 optional subjects for the IAS exams and candidates should choose the optional subject which will inculcate two papers.
